Pauline Naylor
Trustee
Born and raised in Sheffield, Pauline served for 22 years in the British Army, becoming the Army’s first female Systems Analyst and completing her service at the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2. Following her military career, she worked at British Aerospace before spending more than two decades as an IT Project Manager with HSBC.
Since returning to Stocksbridge, Pauline has remained deeply committed to community life. Alongside her role at STEP, she is actively involved in a wide range of local and regional organisations, including Sheffield Theatres, Sensoria, SCCG, TARA, the Valley Medical Centre Patient Group, SADACCA Women’s Group, Community Care and Forum, the Steel Valley Veterans Club, and the Royal British Legion.
Pauline is passionate about STEP’s mission to support people into work, strengthen local businesses, and provide accessible, affordable spaces where the community can come together — from childcare and learning to social and cultural activities.
With extensive experience across complex organisations and governance boards, Pauline brings strong organisational, technical, and strategic insight, supporting both staff and fellow trustees through her breadth of professional and voluntary experience.
Looking ahead, Pauline’s vision is clear: for The Venue to be the place people choose for a great night out with high-quality entertainment, and for STEP to be the first port of call for inclusive, welcoming community spaces.
Three words Pauline uses to describe STEP’s future:
Innovative. Agile. Fun
